Default Re: The completion of the Requiem by Knud Vad

Yes, it seems. In fact, it is turning into a worthy phenomenon of study. Why so much interest to re-do the Requiem? There is another musical work that has provoked so many "versions"?

I believe that not, and I do not observe this situation with other incomplete works, for example Schubert's Incomplete Symphony, to which nobody happens to add the third and fourth movement (or at least the third one, since the beginning is outlined).

In the work of " being a modern Süssmayr " it has resulted very interesting, realized for very competent and worthy scholars of respect, but with so many floration of versions one ends up by thinking... for what?. To correct Süssmayr's mistakes? Or to satisfy his own ego joining his name to that of Mozart precisely in the most controversial work of all?.

Saying is this with all my respect and admiration for his work, to which in the end we owe the possibility of how it might have been the Réquiem, specially the Amen Fugue.

We must accept that the Requiem fullly realized by Mozart us went away with him.

Regards.
