                                Who's Who ?

 

       When you read various books, articles and postings on or about Mozart, one starts to see the names of other people who were involved in his life.  Sometimes there are descriptions or explanations; most of the time it is assumed that you know who these people are.  And, many times, you don’t.  So, here’s a listing to help sort out some important Mozart contemporaries, give them a little background for you to work with so as to better place them in the context of Mozart’s life.

Music Clips

Various people in the Who's Who section  have a music clip added to their short  bios.
In the case of composers we offer a segment of one of their works. For many others  we offer a bit of Mozart's music that was composed for, performed by, or commissioned by this person. These clips are from the collections of the MozartForum owners.  Seldom does a clip offer even a complete movement or aria. They are intended as snapshots to help newcomers become familiar with some things they may not have heard before.
